Venezuelan Art

I just returned from a trip back home to Maracaibo where all my extended family lives. I had the chance to run around with my godmother, artist Maria Cristina Romero, and view a few exhibits around the city. Below are a few examples.

I got to see artists such as Freddy Paz, Elvis Rosendo, Martin Rincon and Irma Parra. On my flickr I documented as much as I could.

  1. I’m interested in Jesus Soto. I would like to see samples of his work prior to 1950 . . . before the revolution. I have the book Conversations with Jesus Soto and understand that before the kinetic era there was a time when he maybe painted flowers etc. I think I might have one of his earliest paintings . . . I’m trying to find out. Do you know anything about his Earliest works? Thank you for any information you can give me.
