I’ve been mixing my knitting skills with a bit of sewing to make some snazzy pillows. I’m currently making some hand-knit as well as full fabric pillow covers which I’ll soon post on my etsy store. The store currently has some cozy knits for this lingering winter if you need a beanie or cowl!

Hello! So I’ve contributed some of my thoughts about Street Art and its evolution in an article for Visual Overture Magazine. This particular topic has sparked pretty good and healthy discussions among my fellow artists and friends. Check out the 2nd Volume of this great little artists source.
I watched this movie last night…and I am incredibly impressed with Daniel’s work. It all really came together and it’s a solid piece of documentation. This movie is a robust view of the art form, its history and its current perils. It’s exciting, informative, absorbing and personal. I love it, can you tell? If graffiti is somehow part of your life, you need to watch this. No, actually, everyone should. The DVD is available here.

I’ve been waiting for this moment for a while now. My good friend Daniel has finished his film. He has traveled the world to capture great graffiti artists doing their work. today I stumbled upon a big bag of my pictures. I found myself going through these photos I’ve taken throughout my 3 years out east. I wanted to share a few with you. All places vary, east coast, west coast, south america. All cameras vary, holga, hasselblad, lc-a. take a look.

Spent the day yesterday walking the Metropolitan Museum of Art on 81st and 5th Ave. Its been over 10 years since my last visit (god I feel old), and I forgot how HUGE that museum is. I tried to go through the whole thing, but it must be about a weeks worth of walking….So pretty much just walked around and stumbled into places and eras that seemed interesting.
Loved the Victorian rooms:
Saw plenty of sculptures and paintings. Saw my favorite painters and also took detail pictures of their brushwork. Painters such as Van Gogh, Gauguin and Cezanne really get me in the mood to paint. I love their colors, the richness of the paint, the brushwork and subject matters. I adore the tropical still-lifes and landscapes. They remind me of Venezuela and my godmother, who’s first oil paint lesson for me was a mango still-life on her backporch over-looking the Maracaibo Lake.

Also swung by the SUPERHEROES exhibit, which was surprisingly small and overly hyped for what it is..as well as the Jeff Koons sculptures on the Rooftop garden. the view was great…the sculptures… meh. I did get a kick of the reflections.
I love the MET. one of my favorites. So much history and so much art. I need a free week to walk it all.
